Quality Control Technician

The Role & Key Responsibilities

Joining us as a Quality Control Technician (QC Technician) at our Melmerby site is a great way to learn about the important role quality assurance plays in ensuring safe and sustainable animal feed production.

A QC Technician takes batch samples of our animal feed product at various stages of the manufacturing process and runs standardised tests to ensure the product is within the required specification.  Initially that may sound a little daunting but our team will train you in how to run all of the tests and complete the necessary forms and paperwork.

Sometimes the sample results will be outside of specification and this will require you to investigate why this has happened. You will need to analyse data and speak with suppliers and other departments in these instances so that we can quickly learn what has happened and resolve it. We have a range of tests, forms and audits that will need to be completed and after training you will be equipped to perform these duties safely and efficiently.

Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone who is a natural people person, comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the business.  Ideally with A Levels (or equivalent) in Science and Maths you will be computer literate and have a good eye for detail. You will be able to follow instructions for completing processes and complete required paperwork neatly and accurately.
