Production Manager

The Role & Key Responsibilities
Production Manager - Waslingham

Operating at the heart of the Agricultural Supply Chain, ABN works across the UK manufacturing and delivering high quality compound animal feed to the nations pig and poultry farms. With 11 sites across the UK and substantial investment and plans for growth, we know that we need the best people to drive our business forward. As Production Manager, you’ll oversee the day to day management of our mill manufacturing facility at our flagship site in Walsingham.

You’ll oversee and develop a team of production staff, ensuring they’re fully trained and able to thrive in their roles and meet the needs of the business.

Some other responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining mill operations
  • Ensuring health & safety is at the forefront of the manufacturing process
  • Drive a culture of engagement and teamwork
  • Make feed safety a priority

You’ll also champion continuous improvement across the site, working with your team, the Operations Manager and other key stakeholders throughout the business. Additionally, you’ll support and implement any capital projects planned and actioned for the site.

We’re looking for an experienced Production Team Leader or Manager, ideally within the feed / food manufacturing industry.

With experience of the following:

  • Continuous Improvement, you can recognise opportunities for efficiencies.
  • You’re a great communicator, you have experience training and developing team members.
  • You’re well organised and can demonstrably prioritise a workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideally, you’ve got experience managing a budget and have report generation and interpretation experience.
  • You’re highly computer literate and enjoy learning new skills.
  • You build relationships quickly and enjoy managing people.

This role involves some (infrequent) travel to other sites and our central office in Peterborough for meetings on an ad hoc basis.
