Job Title: Internal Audit Manager

Location: Peterborough / Flexible, UK

In this key role, you’ll manage and perform internal audits for ABF’s AB Agri Group, with a turnover in excess of £2bn. This will involve carrying out audits in the UK and Ireland, as well as managing the audit planning and process for AB Agri’s Chinese and other overseas locations, which will be effected by local resources. The scope for this role involves development as a Finance professional within the ABF Group.

The key objectives of this role are to ensure the consistency and quality of the internal audit process across the Group and to act as an independent reporting line into the Audit Committee.

Your responsibilities will include: 
 
  • The jobholder will adhere to, and contribute to the development of, the ABF group internal audit guidelines. Within this framework the jobholder is accountable for providing the AB Agri Group businesses with an efficient internal auditing service
  •  The jobholder will perform audit reviews across these sites based on an annual plan of visits agreed with the AB Agri Finance Director and the ABF Director of Financial Control. This will involve a significant degree of UK weekday travel (circa 40-50%)
  • Following all reviews, the jobholder is expected to communicate findings in a quick and effective manner to local, divisional, AB Agri group and ABF management
  • The jobholder will perform follow up audits to ensure that all actions have been implemented
  • The jobholder will also review the AB Agri key business risk assessment process, and provide assurance that the mitigating controls are appropriate, in place and effective
  • The scope of the visits includes following up on progress made in the implementation of KPMG Management Letter Points and management action plans resulting from internal self-assessment processes
  • Quarterly the jobholder will report and review progress with the AB Agri Group FD and the ABF Director of Financial Control
  • In addition to providing an internal audit service the jobholder is also expected to carry out ad hoc project and investigatory work as directed by the AB Agri Group FD and/or the ABF Director of Financial Control.
