Job Title: Applications Analyst

Location: Homebased with occasional visits to Peterborough office

Shift details: Contract will require employee being on an on call rota

As a “Application Analyst” you will play a crucial role within the application support team; serving as of part of 2nd / 3rd line support for our all of our Business Applications used by  internal and external customers.

Our users are highly reliant on data, systems and workflows to meet business objectives. It is your responsibility to understand the business needs and make the user experience of the business systems and digital platform applications as positive as possible through strong service, deployment, maintenance, education and configuration.

The role entails specialist application support for a variety of applications including Microsoft Dynamics AX environments such as AX4, AX 2009, AX2012 and D365, software purchased and deployed on-prem, cloud based applications and web hosted environments.

Working within the AB Agri IS Operation team alongside Service Delivery, Infrastructure and Application team we thrive to deliver and support our global user community to help achieve business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include: 
  •  Resolve IT application-related incidents, service requests and problems in a timely and efficient manner in line with business requirements.
  •  Employ appropriate application maintenance, support and incident management processes and procedures to support and maintain IT applications, and to investigate and resolve IT application-related incidents.
  •  As required, provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents.
  •  Assist in the delivery of major IS projects in relation to applications; whether this is deploying new applications, upgrading existing or transitioning support into application support team.
  •  Liaise with IT suppliers to ensure IT application-related incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  •  Undertake IT application-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution or prevention measures as appropriate.
  •  Monitor the availability, performance, and throughput of supported IT applications. Pick up and action batch failures and resolve.
  •  Maintain and create IT application support technical documentation.
  •  Understand and comply with the IT organisation requirements, processes, procedures, and policies.
  •  Continually look at ways to improve business processes to enable efficiency savings within AB Agri application portfolio and raise with necessary stakeholders to review/implement.

 

About you: 

 The post-holder will have the ability to prioritize, schedule and administer instances where implementation, enhancement or defect resolution is required.  The ability to record, track and document the installation, maintenance or  problem solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken is key to being successful in the role.

  • Experience of working in a technology support role at user level
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following applications:- D365, Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM, Northgate ResourceLink, Paragon, Format, Bestmix, TrakSys.
  • Working knowledge of Windows server 2012/2016 and MS SQL2008, SQL2012, SQL2016 technology
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to users with a strong focus of understanding business priorities.
  • Experience with technology solutions tied to ERP, CRM, Web and content management solutions. Both for line of business and back-office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint in a Support Capacity (Not development)
