The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Export Supervisor

Duration: 6 month FTC / 6 month contract role

Location: Rugeley (UK) or Rotterdam

The Export Supervisor will have responsibility for the day to day management of the export team, working closely with the UK & International CS Manager and the CI team to improve existing processes and develop new ways of working, in particular to ensure all post Brexit export requirements are met.

Working closely alongside key stakeholders within Premier Nutrition, the Export Supervisor will to ensure successful Export activities across UK and international markets.

You’ll be responsible for:

Overseeing the successful running of the Export team with support from the UK & International CS Manager including but not limited to:

  • Taking a proactive position to manage the export team, to ensure team members are appropriately trained, developed and supported to provide excellent response and service to customers anywhere in the world.
  • Working closely with Key stakeholders focussed on the delivery of the Premier Nutrition vision and strategy related to improving the service to customers.
  • Assisting the UK & International CS Manager with reviewing current processes and ways of working with the aim of apply continuous improvement methodologies to remove waste and increase value for the customer.
  • Ensuring that the Export team are managing the administrative processes related to the receipt and execution of sales orders including delivery of products to our global customers.
  • Processing orders accurately, from order receipt through to delivery in line with Company processes and agreed timescales.
  • Liaising with suppliers and shipping lines to ensure timely despatch to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Generating accurate shipping documents.
  • Preparing and issuing quotations and proformas direct to customer or relevant Commercial Nutritionist/Account Manager.
  • Ensuring that export documentation is correct and complete to ensure that orders are delivered without customs delays in line with post Brexit requirements.
  • Managing customers who operate on Letters of Credit.
  • Ensuring that customer questions and queries are answered promptly and necessary actions are coordinated.
  • Ensure that all customer documentation and records are always up to date and accurately maintained on all business systems.
  • Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in import/export activity and procedures.

What we’re looking for:

  • To be successful in the role will require an enquiring approach to develop a good understanding of the current ways of working and identifying areas to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Delivering excellent customer services with an ability to analyse, interpret and challenge performance, waste, capability and opportunities that impact on the delivery of excellent export will be key to success in this role.
  • Day to day management of the Export team, to include decision making around people development, performance assessment and recruitment in conjunction with UK & International CS manager.
  • Forward looking to innovate and continuously improve the export experience.
  • Experience with international freight in a post Brexit environment including knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Brexit implications and export rules / procedures and documentation.
  • In depth knowledge of AEO status requirements
  • Day to day people management including supporting recruitment, ER case management and change initiatives under the leadership of the UK & International CS Manager.
  • Experience of improving existing process, developing new ways of working and embedding these changes into the day to day.
  • Knowledge of export payment terms
  • Build effective networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
