The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Utility Operator

Location: Northallerton

Shift: Rotating - Week 1 Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00.  Week 2 - Monday to Friday 12:00 - 20:00.  And alternative Saturdays 06:00 - 16:00. 

 

As our new team member you will carry out a range of tasks in support of the mill operation and milling process, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Raw material intake / weighbridge operation
  • Bulk outloading
  • Additives preparation
  • Hygiene housekeeping - All area’s including floors walls machinery & any other equipment.  Vacuuming, Scraping, Washing & Painting 
It is expected that you will carry out various reasonable duties not listed here in the course of your work as required by the business, for example assisting with maintenance work, ripping & tipping, emptying tote bins, and performing press and blending operations
 
We're looking for someone who will strive to maximise efficiency, service and feed consistency whilst ensuring that feed safety and health and safety standards are not compromised. 
 
This role is shift based as part of a shift rota system. Bank Holidays are treated as normal working days.

  • Prior experience in food / agriculture / production environments
  • Feed mill production experience
  • Working with automated plant machinery
  • IT Skills
  • Basic maintenance skills
  • Fork Lift Truck licence
  • Quality Assurance Skills
  • Organisation and prioritisation skills
  • HACCP Level 2
