The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Enstone, Oxfordshire, OX7 4NP

Shift: Monday-Saturday early and late shifts on site, plus rota for call outs, including weekend cover - 40 hours per week.


We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team at our Enstone site.

Our engineers are responsible for the overall maintenance of the site including both reactive and planned maintenance tasks, fault finding and plant optimisation whilst supporting the engineering manager. You will work with the engineering manager in creating and building capital plans whilst working to a budget.

The scope of this role covers maximising production efficiencies, product consistency and service whilst ensuring that feed safety and Health and Safety standards are never compromised.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Planned preventative maintenance utilising agreed schedules and reactive maintenance as required.
- Managing engineering spares, including sourcing parts and other spares in a cost effective manner.
- Ensuring that the achievement of food safety and health and safety is always a priority.
- Quick resolution of plant breakdowns, faults, leaks etc.
- Working efficiently and making best use of plant downtime due to mechanical and electrical failures.
- Monitoring plant condition on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary equipment failures.
- Working with the Engineering team to ensure site is electrically & mechanically safe.
- Contribute ideas to identify and implement energy cost saving.

 

What we’re looking for:

HNC (or equivalent) Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Multi-skilled engineer.
- Able to work with 
planned maintenance systems, preferably within the Food industry.
Good H&S knowledge in legislation and application (IOSH qualification would be desirable but not essential)
A logical and structured thinker, with a strong ability to solve problems.
Exposure to high volume manufacturing; CI or lean methodologies.
- Great 
Communication skills so you can honestly and openly talk with any member of our team, to get across technical information in a way they understand.
