The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Electrical Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cullompton

Shift: Rotating work pattern between 6am and 10pm Mon - Fri plus on call shift rota (approx 1 week in 6) 

 

We're looking for an Engineer to join our Cullompton and Uffculme Mill team.  

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance utilising agreed schedules and reactive maintenance as required
  • Ensure your engineering stock of spares is maintained along with sourcing parts and other spares in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensuring that the achievement of food safety is always a priority.
  • Quick resolution of plant breakdowns, faults, leaks etc.
  • Completion of the preventative maintenance schedule on time and within costs.
  • Minimising plant downtime due to mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Monitoring plant condition on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary equipment failures.
  • Ensuring the mill is maintained and works are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Ensuring the site is electrically & mechanically safe.
  • Contribution towards identifying energy cost saving initiatives.

This site works 24/7 so a degree of flexibility is required.  This vacancy is shift based, working 5 shifts a week (plus on call as part of a rota), with shifts planned annually.

 

What we’re looking for:

    • Apprenticeship trained Multi-skilled engineer; HNC (or equivalent)
    • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
    • Suitable & relevant Engineering experience
    • Experience of planned maintenance systems, preferably within the Food industry
    • Good H&S knowledge in legislation and application (IOSH qualification, desirable)
    • A logical and structured thinker, with a strong ability to solve problems.
    • Exposure to high volume manufacturing; CI orl ean methodologies
