The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Associate IT Project Manager

Location: Hybrid - (Peterborough & Home Working, on average 1 day per week in the office)

Are you an established IT Project Manager looking for that next step in your career with exposure to a varied portfolio of IT projects?

In this role you will gain the opportunity to work on a broad portfolio of IT projects across infrastructure, hardware/software installation, upgrade, new acquisition and ERP projects with a budget between 10k to 20m. 

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project management including regular RAID and progress reporting to senior management teams, managing budgets and controlling costs, managing risks and issues and mitigation planning when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage projects in line with IS standards, processes and governance through all stages of a project life cycle.
  • Plan and monitor multiple IT projects, ensuring objectives are understood and met and the Project team understand the requirements
  • Direct and motivate the project team
  • Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level
  • Manage project risks and issues.
  • Ensure project plans and progress reporting, including timesheets are maintained on Project Online.
  • Manage 3rd party expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Submit regular Checkpoint Reports indicating any deviations from plan at either stage or project level and any corrective action taken

This is a great opportunity for a experienced Project Manager looking to further develop their IT Project management skills with a small well-established and experienced team. They will offer support and guidance to the successful candidate to ensure you succeed.

We are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Ideally achieved a formal certified waterfall project management methodology (e.g. Prince II Practitioner)
  • Experience of managing IT projects within medium to large scale organisations with previous enterprise, ERP, digital or infrastructure project exposure. 
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships to influence and engage at varying levels across the business
  • An understanding of all aspects of Project Management across a wide range of applications and businesses with the ability to propose solutions and derive plans that ensure delivery to time, budget and quality

Location

We will be offering a hybrid working approach with the requirement to be in our Peterborough office ideally 1 - 2 days per week. There may be some travel to other UK or international sites dependant on the projects you are supporting
