Job Title: Automation Technical Team Leader

Location: Hybrid - Peterborough (on average 1 day per week in the office)

Do you have a broad understanding and interest in no-code/low code development technologies, especially with regard to the Microsoft Power Platform and the software development lifecycle? Do you have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft power platform, Microsoft Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service or Microsoft Azure Platform-as-a-Service? 

In this key role as our Team Leader you will be managing a small team providing innovative automation solutions for AB Agri. This will provide a highly visible, commercially focused capability for AB Agri to respond fast to changing market requirements using the latest technology to deliver solutions that are not available off-the-shelf.

• Identifying automation opportunities throughout the business, and promoting the concept of no-code/low-code solutions within a wider ABF audience.
• The automation platform of choice for AB Agri is the Microsoft Power Platform including Azure Logic Apps, Data Verse and associated technologies. In this role you will become an expert in delivering solutions using these technologies and be pro-active in promoting their benefits and capabilities.
• Managing and expanding of a small team of Automation Engineers to include motivating, leading and managing their workloads.
• You will be expected to contribute materially to the production of solutions by being personally adept at the required technologies.
• You will need to gain a comprehensive knowledge of our current automation systems & solutions; as well as being up to date with new technological developments outside of the business ensuring we utilise those most appropriate for the project at hand.
•  Assess and articulate solution design options, benefits, affordability/costs and delivery timelines to other teams and stakeholders; gaining interest and support from colleagues in the operating businesses.

What you'll bring: 

• Has a broad understanding of no-code/low code development technologies, especially the Microsoft Power Platform and the software development lifecyle. With an understanding of when it would be appropriate to use low code and no code
• Previous experience of integrating other systems  such as microsoft teams , writing and coding chat bots and automating across microsoft O365 products, AX Dynamics and other cloud based systems. 
• Whilst you don't need to have managed previously, we are looking for good leadership and influencing qualities, with the capabilities to mentor and upskill a small team whilst managing them on a daily basis. 
• You must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical solutions in a language appropriate to the audience, and be able to negotiate with and influence senior stakeholders.
• Holding a holistic view and understanding of appropriate technologies available in use across the automation domains, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology trends and developments and the translation of those into direct measurable business benefits.
