The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Azure Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Peterborough - Hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office at least twice a month with some site visits

Are you an experienced Cloud Engineer? Are you looking for your next challenge and the opportunity to work in a varied role working with the whole platform? In this role you will have the opportunity to take ownership of deployments, migrations and projects within the Azure Cloud environment. 

You will be responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers and networks. Implementing, migrating, supporting, monitoring and managing services and systems in Microsoft Azure are the main focus of the role. You will need to build strong working relationships with third parties, other specialist tech teams such as security and applications and also work on international projects with our manufacturing sites to deliver azure projects moving from on-prem to cloud, including the deployment of servers, websites and infrastructure.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Maintains, monitors, and supports the infrastructure environment and/or facilities.
  • Supporting day to day operations within the 365 tenancy Email, Share point, Teams, One drive 
  • Coordinates and works on multiple cross-functional base work initiatives and projects.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware, software and connectivity problems.
  • Supports multiple systems or applications of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Manage, Develop and deploy across entire cloud platform from AAD, RBA, subscriptions, resource groups, VM's, Gateways to configuring site to site VPN's. 
  • Lead project integrations such as business acquisitions, email, data and system migration to the cloud as well as Integrating edge server technologies

What you'll bring: 

  • A team player with a sound technical background and proven experience in cloud technology ideally azure.
  • Experience and a proven background of managing, supporting and deploying cloud systems and services including subscriptions, resource groups, VM, Storage, VNet’s, Data Protection and restore, traffic management, security and governance
  • Migrating systems and services from an on-premise solution to a cloud hosted solution including email, data and hosted systems
  • Technical knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD and practical experience of managing these with PowerShell
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and investigate solutions
  • Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a small team
  • Able to diagnose and resolve issues or implement new technologies and Infrastructure
