Job Title: Senior Raw Material Manager – Procurement

As our Senior Raw Material Manager, you will oversee a team of 12 work through 3 direct reports, with responsibility for managing multi-million-pound expenditures on raw materials for compound animal feed. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate, cost-effective, and up-to-date sourcing strategies for the procurement of a number of raw materials. By doing so, you and your team will play a crucial role in directly enhancing the profitability of our business.
Some of your key focus areas/opportunities include:
- Working closely with our Procurement Director to embed the strategy and identify areas of focus, opportunities for change and approach to success.
- Review/ensure correct governance, controls and procedures are in place and documented to improve efficiencies.
- Champion collaboration within the group to looking for opportunities to maximise buying power and minimise duplication.
- Contribute to creating a team environment where we thrive, develop, and grow. Creating a high performing team culture.
- Build, maintain and leverage relationships internally and externally to manage cost, risk and maximise commercial opportunities.

To be successful we are looking for the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject or CIPS Level 5 qualified.
- Previous line management experience. Ideally gained in a commercial, procurement or commodity/material-based function.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with good commercial awareness and the ability to interpret market data & emerging trends.
- Experience working with multiple raw materials in a volatile commodity industry would be desired.
Location
For this role we are flexible on location offering a hybrid working approach from our Peterborough office with a minimum of 2 days a week. Some travel within the UK to sites and suppliers will be required.
