Business Development Manager - UK

The Role & Key Responsibilities

The aim of this role is to form a key part of our succession plans as we seek to ensure the continued success of our people-driven, market leading business.

The individual will be a key member of the commercial team responsible for driving the business’s future growth plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account development - Identify and develop potential new customers on a national basis through their own or joint initiative with our distribution partner (ABN).

  • Account management - Work with existing clients to maintain and grow business through successful identification of client nutritional needs and commercial requirements.

  • Support and training - Support our distribution partners by giving practical, technical and commercial guidance in account / prospect management.

  • Key Account Management - Coordinate the business interface with a number of the Top 20 key business accounts and prospects.

  • Work with the technical team ensure the coordination of farm trials and ensure technical information from the market is fed back to the technical team.

  • Business representation at technical and farmer meetings / on industry / pig related bodies / groups as required.

 
Skills & Experience
    • Significant pig industry and commercial experience in a feed or allied business.

    • Practical pig production / management skills / knowledge.

    • Understanding the pig customer / pig industry and anticipating their needs is crucial

    • Ability to collect and disseminate information to the technical team.

    • The applicant would need the industry knowledge to be able to perform the role objectives

    • Role would involve extensive UK travel, across the key pig farming areas of the UK.

  • Location can generally be flexible, with some home or office (Peterborough, Melmerby or Rugeley) based time to ensure a high level of customer service and business development is maintained
