Strategic Alliances Director

The Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Strategic Alliances Director to join our organisation, you will be joining AB Agri during an exciting period of growth. The experienced Strategic Alliances professional will lead the development of our relationships with leading product and technology providers.

Looking at acquisition, licencing and distribution opportunities, the role will work closely with our local and global businesses to fulfil long term strategic needs. Seeing trends and opportunities to develop and grow the portfolio, for the benefit of our customers and our businesses, the role will proactively promote and manage opportunities and potential propositions. We are looking for someone who will identify and develop long term relationships to secure products, technologies and routes to market that support our strategic growth agenda.  Responsible for management and oversight of these relationships throughout, the role will be pivotal in growing our capabilities within Europe and globally. Working across our group, the role will work closely with the leadership team, our M&A Director and our Strategy Director.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Development

  • Uncover potential suppliers and partners of products, technologies and capabilities which AB Agri can profitably bring to market, aligned to our strategy.
  • Develop and proactively manage a strong pipeline of opportunities for future growth.
  • Utilise industry trends and opportunities to seek competitive advantage.
  • Show leadership, challenge and support to deliver AB Agri wide performance, growth and quality assurance.

    Strategic Relationship Management

  • Actively develop and nurture relationships for long term mutual benefit.
  • Understand and manage stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Deliver high quality internal and external relationship management aligned to business priorities and future growth.

    Capability Delivery

  • Manage the implementation process to successful delivery of capability, working with internal partners.
  • Ensure successful transition of day to day service delivery management to internal partners.
  • Manage and maintain oversight on service agreements and contractual commitments.

    Industry Insights

  • Work to understand, synthesize and share insights, trends and dynamics in the market with internal partners.
  • Bring in external perspectives to challenge and develop performance and strategy.
Skills & Experience

 

  • Track record of delivery of successful strategic partnerships and acquisitions globally in the animal nutrition & health industry.
  • Strong experience in an international large animal nutrition and health organisation
  • Experience in leading and managing negotiations and commercial agreements.
  • Thorough knowledge of the agri-feed market as well as the changes and forces that will influence the business globally.
  • Experienced in mapping competitive landscapes to identify opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges involved in product registration, global distribution and regulation in the animal feed industry
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic business development.
  • Excellent relationship management and pipeline management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, familiar with a range of techniques and approaches, able to work at the most senior levels.
  • Fluent in at least one other European language other than English, preferably Spanish, German &/or French.
  • High degree of cultural sensitivity and adaptability with a proven ability to operate across many different cultures and in different countries.

Salary: £130,000 - £160,000 depending on experience plus benefits
