The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Production Team Leader 

Location: Flixborough, Scunthorpe DN15 8SD

Due to an internal promotion we are recruiting for a Production Team Leader to join us at our Flixborough Mill.  We're looking for someone who can create production plans, be hands on in the Operative role when needed and most importantly we're looking for an someone who can engage and motivate a team to deliver against Mill KPIs.

Role Responsibilities
  • Being an active member of the team, able to run an automated control system, understand breakdown information and liaise with engineering teams as required.
  • Managing the Operative team (up to 4 people) ensuring they are well trained, performing to a high standard and are engaged in their work.
  • Key to the day-to-day operation of the mill production plant, equipment and processes from raw material intake to out loading.
  • Ensuring the production plan for the shift is achieved by identifying and allocating tasks to the team.
  • Production planning - including oversight of the plans and transport plans.
  • Working with the Production Manager and Site Management team to ensure site hygiene and adherence to processes to enable the safe production of animal feed.  
Skills and Experience 
  • Significant experience in an Operative role in a Production environment and familiarity with Process Control computer systems
  • Experience in a supervisory or people management role
  • A good understanding of H&S, Lean management and CI 
  • You love to maximise efficiencies, service and feed consistency while ensuring that feed safety, alongside health and safety standards are never compromised.
  • You love a problem and you’re super proactive in getting a solution
  • You take pride in what you do.
Shift details
 
The site runs a 12 hour shift pattern. Days - 6am to 6pm and Nights 6pm to 6am. The Team Leader will join their team on a rotating shift pattern, e.g. 4day shifts, 5 shifts off, 5 nights shifts, 4 days off, 5 day shifts, - repeats every 2 weeks.
