The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Raw Material Planner – FTC/Secondment - end of March 2023

Location: Peterborough/Home working – Hybrid

You will join a small team who support 11 Feed Mills around the UK with getting in raw materials required in the right quantities at the right time to complete production of Animal feed. Our Raw materials are both liquid and dry and come in the tonnes from within the UK and across Europe.

You will have responsibility for:

  • Planning the supply of raw materials into manufacturing sites based on production demand, stock levels and capacity information, in line with agreed processes. You will work closely and build relationships with manufacturing sites to quickly react to changing operational requirements- keeping stakeholders informed at all times
  • Provide an excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders from a variety of teams including suppliers, production, formulation, technical, procurement and demand planning
  • Coordinating with suppliers and hauliers to arrange fixings, confirm delivery instructions and manage delivery exceptions
  • Working collaboratively with the Procurement team to manage purchase contract call-offs, actively administer contract balances, and provide visibility of significant changes in requirements
  • In conjunction with the Central Finance teams, investigate and resolve any supplier invoice queries on a timely basis
  • Assisting in the management of site stocks and the control of stock variances, actively challenging stock variances with manufacturing sites
  • Contribute to continuous improvement process within the team supporting and contributing where possible to new ideas or delivery of CI activities
  • Be part of the on-call rota approx. 1 in 5 subject to training

  • Problem solving logical thinker
  • Ability to work with a number of stakeholders and mange relationships communicating effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with changing priortise at short notice
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of making suggestions for process improvement would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of EU Customs requirements would be beneficial

Location/Contract type

We are looking for someone to join our team until the end of March 2023 working as a hybrid model with 2 days a week at our Peterborough office. The team currently come in 2 days between Monday- Wednesday however there is flexibility on days if required.
