The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Sales Manager (B2B Dairy - North region inc Scotland and NI)

Location: Remote with 50/50 travel

Are you passionate about farming and animal nutrition? Do you have a strong commercial and business acumen with experience in the FMCG or Animal feed market that thrives building strong B2B customer relationships? This is a great opportunity to join our fast paced and rapidly growing Dairy team working with a collaborative, driven and positive team. 

In this role, you will support and grow the business in Northern GB, Scotland & NI. Providing customer support to existing & new B2B customers. Identifying and developing new product sales opportunities together with promoting and supporting our service offering. This role will provide exposure to a market leading, wide range of feed additives to the ruminant B2B sector and give you the freedom and autonomy to manage your own portfolio of clients.
 
As part of this role you will attend various networking events and travel to meet with your customers and suppliers on a regular basis to utilise the opportunity to build on new relationships and expand the existing network. With a focus to grow overall sales volumes and margins. 
 
Due to strategic growth plans, we expect our product offering to expand and for this team to grow over time, there will be lots of opportunity for this person to build themselves a great reputation and network within the business whilst also fast tracking their career with plenty of development and progression routes available in the future. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Managing a sales ledger with full budgetary responsibility. 
  • To grow the GB&I business in North GB, Scotland & NI by building on existing business success and delivering new customers in line with the GB&I Strategy. 
  • Providing commercial and technical support for key customers – pulling in additional technical support from colleagues as appropriate.
  • Contributing towards GB&I Team activities such as business strategy, events, marketing plans, supplier liaison and ad hoc projects.
  • Giving feedback on market development and customer needs to steer the business strategy and innovative R&D.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key customers and other stakeholders in the animal feed industry
  • Being active in the market to build the company profile as ‘thought leaders’.

What you'll bring: 

  • Understanding of animal feed and livestock industries (preferably with a good understanding of the ruminant sector)
  • Proven sales experience within ideally the Agricultural Sector or potentially the FMCG industry
  • Innovative and capable of broad thinking but with a practical edge that gets things done.
  • Relevant qualification in animal nutrition and/or experience in applying nutritional knowledge in feed or feed ingredients
  • Ability to foster influential relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to sell concepts in a compelling way
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills with a passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Organised, flexible, self-motivated and ambitious
  • Strong negotiation skills
