Job Title: Procurement Specialist – Logistics/Warehousing
Location: Rotterdam/Netherlands Flexible – Hybrid
Contract and shift details: 12 Month FTC with view to Perm Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week
Are you a Procurement Professional with experience of working in the Logistics, Warehousing and Freight sector looking for an international role in a growing business? If so, join us in this newly created position!
You will take the lead for procurement activities associated with Supply Chain working in a small procurement team based across the UK and Netherlands supporting our complex global Supply Chain (SC). You will work with our regions in EMEA, ASPAC and the Americas to review processes and contracts associated with distribution, transportation and warehousing. You will be looking at ways to optimise and bring in best practice while suggesting ways to improve, add value and deliver savings.
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Develop a global logistics category sourcing strategy (including road freight, ocean freight and warehousing) and ensure its successful implementation against agreed targets.
- Work closely with regional supply chain teams to understand specific requirements, opportunities and constraints. Make recommendations on local versus global sourcing strategies.
- Identify and mitigate risks in 3rd party supply chains through robust tenders, legal contracts and SRM programmes.
- Being the category specialist for global logistics and warehousing, plus other projects/opportunities as they arise.
- Providing market intelligence for internal customers and to challenge suppliers.
- Creating great relationships with stakeholders through business partnering, ensuring alignment on business strategies critical objectives.
- Managing supplier negotiations, including leading the preparation for and execution of commercial and contract negotiations.
- Leveraging AB Vista’s global presence and scale where possible to achieve margin and quality improvements.
- Developing and implementing Supplier Relationship Management activity to manage performance and drive improvement.
- Engaging with other internal customers, business units, other companies within Associated British Foods (ABF) and other industries for ideas and best practice sharing.
- Partnering with Commercial and Quality teams to drive cost reduction and increase service delivery in an ethical and sustainable manner.
- Developing cost trackers to map out the true cost of logistics and its impact on the P&L and aid strategic scenario planning.

To be successful in this role some of the things we are looking for:
- Experience gained in a procurement role supporting the SC category
- Degree or vocationally qualified with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is desired not essential
- Good analytical experience with ability to make data and best practice suggestions with experience of optimising processes
- Fluent in English both written and verbal – other language skills are desired not essential
Location
For this role we can be flexible on location however we are looking for someone who can work hybrid from our office in Rotterdam which is located next to Centraal Station in the centre of Rotterdam. Some international travel will be required in role.
