The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Finance Manager (Dairy)

Location: Hybrid - Peterborough (would need to be in the office 2 days per week)

Reporting into the Financial Controller for AB Dairy this is a great opportunity to work with our rapidly growing Dairy division that is experiencing lots of M&A activity and has exciting, strategic plans to continue growing at pace.
 
In this role you will be involved in all aspects of monthly reporting, managing the overheads and working capital for Dairy and some elements of Central finance, dealing with all aspects of Balance Sheet accounting and review, budgeting and forecasting cycles, year end and statutory accounting including preparing and checking the audit reviews for 9 divisions within Dairy. 
 
You will also have the opportunity to support the Financial controller with M&A activity and setting up the required legislation and controls for the US. 

We are looking for someone who can build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders including the MD for Dairy and and build strategic 5 year plans with various divisions and directors. This role poses the opportunity to build a great reputation and network for yourself with an opportunity to develop further into this role and longer term across the wider finance group. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Overhead and working capital reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Management of all UK Dairy overheads
  • Managing the monthly accruals, prepayments and recharge adjustments
  • Meeting regular reporting requirements including monthly packs and understanding variances, taking action as necessary and making recommendations and mitigating risk
  • Working with Business partners to build budgets and forecasts
  • Ownership of period Balance Sheet review
  • Consolidation of monthly AB Dairy results
  • Completion of year end reporting packs and supporting notes
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of current processes
  • Support in the review of AB Dairy control policies, including implementation of the Financial Control Framework
  • Supporting the onboarding of new businesses
  • Completion of UK and US SOX testing 

What you'll bring: 

  • ACCA/ACA or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience from an audit background with a top 20 accountancy practice would be considered
  • Advanced excel and systems skills
  • Strong reporting and controls background
  • Previous budget and forecasting experience
  • Excellent business partner who is able to engage, persuade and influence senior stakeholders
  • Previous accounting standard implementation such as IFRS, IAS or US GAAP would be advantageous
  • Able to motivate, mentor and coach others in the team
