The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Trading Lead - Performance (15 mths Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Hybrid - Sherburn or Peterborough (on average 2 office days a month but this can vary)

If so this could be a perfect opportunity to join our growing, successful and collaborative team within Dairy for AB Agri.  
 
This is a key role in ensuring the profitability of the Performance team, holding responsibility for driving the Retail customer segment. You will work as part of the Performance team to achieve / exceed Budget, managing contracts and positions effectively, driving sales, retention and new business within this sector. This role is vital to the success of our KW Feeds rationing and retail business plan. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Manage the Performance feed relationships with direct to farm customers within retail segments across the UK, with key ownership of both Merchant and buying group service customers.
  • Where there are limited volumes, working with the Product lead to create distribution plans where required and ownership of implementation into Retail accounts.
  • Build and develop strong supplier relationships to drive collaborative sales opportunities which drive product growth.
  • Be a key driver in sharing market insight across the KW Feeds retail team.
  • Develop and maintain effective key customer relationships within the retail segment to provide expert advice and market intelligence to drive growth.
  • Work as part of a high functioning product focused team, building both capability and accountability for the success of the team performance.

What you'll bring: 

  • Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments
  • An understanding of the fundamental drivers of the UK agriculture industry, ideally ruminant
  • Commodity market experience and a strong understanding of suppliers, markets, technical & fundamental analysis is preferable.
  • Practical commercial experience and entrepreneurial flair with a demonstrable track record of achieving targets and product/contract management.
  • Experience of using BI and CRM would be advantageous.
