The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title:  Personal Assistant Apprentice

Location: Peterborough / Hybrid (2-3 days in the office, flexible)

Are you looking to take the first step onto a career ladder? Do you want to work within an office environment, whilst studying a Business Administration qualification? If so, this newly appointed Personal Assistant Apprentice vacancy is the perfect opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience, supporting an executive level team within a forward thinking, adaptable and global but local thinking business. This is a varied and interesting role offering the opportunity to develop administrative & PA skills, reporting into our Executive Assistant. We offer fully funded study support.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Supporting with the smooth and efficient running of the executive office by providing administrative support. 
  • Diary management, scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms and organising travel.
  • Working with and understanding the business priorities of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure effective time management.
  • Note taking during meetings and share where required to.
  • Producing documents, reports and presentations.
  • Taking internal and external calls and handling these professionally and as appropriate dependent on the subject matter.
  • Supporting the organisation of large off-site conferences or events and supporting these on the day.
  • You will also be working closely with other PAs within AB Agri and the wider ABF group to ensure all of the above is managed well.

What you'll bring: 

  • You will have achieved GCSE Maths and English A*-C/4-9 or equivalent.
  • Be prepared and willing to complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship and be comfortable with on-line learning.
  • Applicants are required to be familiar with Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Further training and development in these packages will also be available to the role holder.
  • Attention to detail is an essential skill for this role as you may be dealing with a variety of tasks at once.
  • Good customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to deal appropriately with a range of people.
  • You will also have/be able to develop excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional, and respect confidentiality is essential and will also be developed through the apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience within a customer facing role will be an advantage but not essential.

Please note, the apprenticeship will only be open to applicants who can demonstrate that it will add substantive new learning in business administration. Those with qualifications in business administration (or similar) at Level 3 or above will not be eligible. This is a fantastic learning, development and training opportunity with the chance to continue growing your career with AB Agri once you have completed your qualification.
