Job Title: Raw Material Planning Team Leader

Location:  Peterborough, UK (Hybrid)

Days, Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 08:30 – 17:00 (Tuesdays & Wednesdays Onsite in Peterborough)

 As a Team leader, you will have an important part in achieving our overall business goals by ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective supply of raw materials into our manufacturing sites. Your span of impact will extend across multiple stakeholders, internally and externally, as you support your team in delivering effective service and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Purpose of the role:

The main purpose and focus of this role are to optimise feed planning processes, enhance collaboration, and create a positive team culture.

Role Objectives:

  • Lead team organisation, prioritisation, and execution in raw material planning and associated duties
  • Standardise processes across the team and ensure consistency of procedures and documentation.
  • Create an ongoing and collaborative approach with multiple stakeholder groups, delivering a high level of service.
  • Track performance and provide feedback within the team effectively.
  • Create a positive team spirit and continuously improve employee engagement.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Plan the efficient and cost-effective supply of Wheat feed to our manufacturing sites and associated tasks.
  • Monitor contract balances, maintain stock sheets, and ensure sufficient cover within the team.
  • Ensure timely supply of all other bagged and bulk raw materials across the UK network, minimising runouts.
  • Deliver measurable continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Supervise daily Raw Material Planning meetings and contribute to departmental and business meetings.
  • Complete customs updates, checks, and audits, increasing knowledge in this area.

About you:

  • Raw Material Planning experience in a data-based environment – essential
  • Great understanding of the custom process and take the lead in increasing your knowledge in this area and be a point of contact with the Procurement team - essential
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to work across various platforms – essential.
  • Continuous improvement mindset – essential
  • Great leadership and supervisory abilities – essential
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues, prioritise workload, and manage support priorities – essential.
  • Focussed approach with a focus on customer service outcomes – essential
  • Enhanced organisations skills with a high level of attention to details – essential
  • Experience in an agricultural or manufacturing environment – desirable

 Additional Information:

  • This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the Peterborough office (Tuesdays / Wednesdays)
  • Occasional visits to manufacturing sites and availability during weekends and bank holiday periods on a team rota basis.
