The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Commercial Nutritionist – Poultry

Location: Flexible UK/Ireland

Salary: Competitive + bonus scheme + private medical + matched pension up to 10%

Permanent 37.5 hours per week - Typically working Days and Hours - Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 - If flexibility is important to you, please discuss potential opportunities with our hiring team.

Are you a poultry nutritionist looking for an opportunity to join a market leading business where we prioritise the welfare and nutrition of the animals? If so, join our team today. 

You will join a team of Poultry Nutrition experts, supporting the UK and Ireland customer base. We focus on independent nutritional advice, so you will use your expert knowledge to advise on bespoke premix products that meet and optimise the customers’ needs. You will be working closely with our customers, utilising data and science behind the nutrition to develop practical solutions that enable their businesses to grow.

You will generate and support new and existing customers by providing advice on premix, supplements, feed formulation, general nutrition support and optimising bird performance. To meet the needs of the business, farmer or market, while ensuring that the specification of the products are safe, legal and meet our business objectives.  

Alongside your nutritional knowledge you will be a key part of our growth and ongoing development utilising commercial and strategic skills to support in the following areas:

  • Develop and implement business growth strategy in UK and Ireland, but with wider Europe in mind.
  • Input on literature, marketing and PR activities including preparation of articles and technical papers.
  • R&D activities including research market trends, preparation of trial protocols, monitoring and reporting of trials and presenting outcomes
  • Working with operational and quality teams in production to review opportunities for improvements to quality, feed safety or cost

  • Time served experience in a similar role or Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field.  E.g., animal science/animal nutrition
  • Sound poultry nutritional and production knowledge and a good understanding of poultry performance data
  • Experience in a commercial role ideally with business development and R&D planning experience
  • Good understanding of the Poultry supply chain and customer focus

Location

This role is flexible in terms of location, you will be home based and expected to travel within the UK and Ireland 2-3 days a week.
