Blends Assistant

The Role & Key Responsibilities

This role will help provide Ruminant farmers with cost effective nutritional solutions, meeting the requirements of their business whilst aligned to the core product offering of KW. 

You will assist in product marketing, formulations, contracts, sales positioning and pricing management for Blends and Soda grain.  You will also be working in partnership with key stakeholders (raw material procurement, operations, sales etc.) to achieve budgeted contribution and business growth specifically within Blends/Soda grain and across the KW portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of the role are:

  • Communication with the sales team regarding customer quotation requests, trading slips, contracts and customer orders
  • Processing of physical and electronic trading slips and contracts to support the Customer Services team
  • Through the use of the blends calculators and spread-sheets, support the process to ensure that the sales team is kept informed of price changes of blends and soda wheat
  • Regularly update the product pricing tools
  • Engage in the product formulation change process to reflect changes in customer requirements and raw materials availability
  • Provide support to the logistics team
  • To support social media based marketing and other marketing and sales campaigns

Skills & Experience
  • Ideally an Agricultural/nutritional qualification although not essential as training will be given
  • An interest and an ability in to work with office based sales

  • High accuracy at speed with attention to detail

  • Able to demonstrate an ability to confidently utilise software packages as a tool to “do the job” and confident with the use of Excel spreadsheets

  • A willingness to develop an understanding of farm animal feeding, ingredient markets and basic animal nutrition

  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective and pro-active communication with the internal stakeholders and customers as relevant. 

  • Confident telephone communication is of particular importance with ability to communicate at all levels

  • Understanding of animal nutrition is desirable but not essential as training will be given
