Financial Accountant – NAF Equine
Location: Monmouth, Wales
Reporting to: Financial Controller

Are you an experienced Financial Accountant looking for a new opportunity to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and effective cash management? Our NAF Equine team are recruiting a great opportunity, there you’ll work closely with teams across the business, supporting key decision‑making, and ensure compliance with group and statutory requirements.
What you'll do:
- Deliver accurate monthly and year‑end reporting, including commentary on key movements.
- Submit all AB Agri central finance requirements on time.
- Maintain robust financial controls aligned with the ABF framework.
- Produce clear, comprehensive management accounts.
- Manage live cashflow forecasting, cash optimisation, and bank/credit/fuel card relationships.
- Support foreign currency hedging where appropriate.
- Liaise with internal/external auditors and prepare year‑end files including tax packs.
- Complete VAT and other statutory returns; provide data to external bodies (e.g. National Statistics Office).
- Oversee Germany and Czech VAT and intrastat submissions
- Manage the Fixed Asset register, including additions, disposals, WIP, and depreciation.
- Ensure accurate master data and financial system integrity.
- Perform monthly control account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Identify and implement process and control improvements.
- Provide clear, well‑explained financial information to stakeholders.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive background in preparing financial reports and maintaining controls.
- Highly developed analytical and organisational skills.
- Skilled communicator and effective business partner.
- Comfortable improving processes and working to deadlines.
- Experience of partnering with European entities
- Experience gained in a manufacturing environment beneficial
- AAT qualified or part ACCA or CIMA
