The Role & Key Responsibilities

Managing Director – Germains Seed Technology
Lead a global business at the cutting edge of seed innovation

How will you shape the future of seed technology?

At Germains Seed Technology, we help farmers and growers unlock nature’s potential through pioneering seed treatment solutions. As our Managing Director, you’ll lead a global team of around 230 people, driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence across the UK, Europe, and North America.

With a bold vision for the future, you’ll take Germains to the next level, defining and executing an ambitious strategy that expands our market presence, strengthens customer relationships, and positions us as the go-to partner in the seed and agri-tech industry. A key and collaborative member of the AB Agri senior leadership team, you’ll set and role model high-performance standards, inspire teams, and ensure we continue to thrive in a rapidly evolving market.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Setting and delivering a clear, aspirational strategy that drives business growth and long-term success.
  • Building and developing a high-performing team, ensuring we have the right talent for the future.
  • Strengthening our position in existing markets while identifying opportunities for expansion, including M&A activity.
  • Cultivating strong, strategic customer and supplier relationships to maximise value and market differentiation.
  • Ensuring operational excellence, commercial agility, and regulatory compliance across all areas of the business.
  • Creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration, empowering teams to perform at their best.

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep industry knowledge in global seed treatment, agri-tech, or agrochemicals.
  • Proven commercial and strategic leadership experience in an international business, including full P&L ownership.
  • A track record of driving business growth, including M&A and market expansion.
  • A strong customer focus, with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
  • A hands-on leadership style in line with the AB Agri Leadership framework, able to engage people, drive commercial excellence and create direction and purpose.

Location:

At AB Agri, our leaders like to be visible and approachable at sites. This role will be hybrid working and will require regular travel to sites in the Netherlands, Spain, California, and the UK. Travel to customer sites and other locations will also be required.

This is a high-profile, impactful leadership role in a business committed to innovation, sustainability, and excellence. If you’re ready to lead a business with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
