Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Peterborough, hybrid option (Minimum 2 days per week in office)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Package includes: Salary from £30,000 per annum plus a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact, including discretionary performance related bonus, car allowance, private healthcare, and a matched pension contribution of up to 10%. We also offer study support, performance related bonus up to 10% paid quarterly.
Here at AB Agri our Credit Controllers are strategic and policy driven, they stand out for their business and regulatory acumen and decision making. They have a unique insight into their customers and are experienced at financial data interpretation. They are innovative and use their expertise to facilitate value-added change and ongoing business and working capital improvement.
What you'll be doing:
- Chase customers for overdue monies owed.
- Set up standard credit arrangements and liaise with customers to ensure payment to terms where no payment difficulties have been identified.
- Perform credit reference checks with a delegated sign off authority.
- Resolve any straight forward account disputes and customer complaints.
- Follow credit policies to support the collection of monies owed
- Take personal responsibility for managing complex or sensitive key customer issues to ensure responsive customer service that minimises bad debts and sustains positive relationships.
- Place a stop on accounts, as necessary, in accordance with policy.
- As a support service, liaise with other areas of the business to resolve account disputes and customer complaints.
- Support consistent decision-making, practice and compliance with credit management policies, regulatory requirement, and procedures by monitoring and advising colleagues, third party suppliers and the wider business within your remit.
What you'll bring:
- Credit Control - Experience of working within a high volume B2B and diverse international organisation, with understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
- Communication & Relationship Building - Effective communication skills by carefully listening, identifying non-verbal cues, and can adapt your personal style to suit different circumstances with clear and concise oral, written and digital communication tailored to the audience.
- Problem solving & Decision Making - Ability to analyse evidence to inform and make decisions, following policies and procedures. Asking questions to understand problems and use digital and other tools to investigate and record accurate information you have collected.
- Support & Influencing - An active listener, who can relate effectively with people across all cultures and social economic backgrounds and use open questioning techniques to understand their position and avoid false assumptions.
- Passion & Learning - Self-motivation, managing priorities and time effectively, acting before being reminded. Taking responsibility of assigned tasks and have pride in your work and profession.
