Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Location: Melmerby, North Yorkshire, UK

Contract & Hours – Six Month Fixed Term Contract - 45 hours - 7am to 4pm Mon to Fri Day shift only

Package includes Salary £31,448 per year, plus a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact and a matched pension contribution of up to 10%.

Join AB Neo and help us raise the standard of our site environment. We’re looking for a motivated, practical Maintenance Operative to support a six-month improvement programme focused on hygiene, safety, and site reliability

Working closely with our Site Improvement Programme, you’ll play a key role in keeping the facility clean, efficient, and audit-ready while supporting ongoing upgrades to the plant.

What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out deep cleaning tasks: vacuuming, washing, scraping, degreasing, and painting
- Operating industrial cleaning equipment and sprayers
- Following the site hygiene plan and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting pest control standards and audit actions
- Reporting leaks, defects, and hazards
- Handling materials safely (FLT use where applicable)
- Improving site appearance and functionality
- Reducing waste and supporting plant efficiency
- Working with colleagues to support continuous improvement
What we’re looking for
- Experience in FMCG, production, engineering, or a similar environment
- FLT licence (desirable)
- Works well with others and has a positive, practical attitude
- A team player with a positive, practical attitude
- High attention to detail
- Pride in maintaining a clean, safe workplace
