Job Title: Process Operative
Location: Melmerby, North Yorkshire, UK
Contract & Hours – Permanent, 40-hour week, 8-hour shift per day - weekly rotating shift pattern of 6am to 2pm (days), 2pm to 10pm (afternoon) and 10pm to 6am (Nights).
Package includes Salary £32,435 per year, plus a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact, including discretionary performance related bonus and a matched pension contribution of up to 10%.

We are recruiting permanent Process Operatives to join our Operations team and play a key role in the safe and efficient production of high-quality animal feed.
The Role:
The Process Operative is responsible for the manufacture of animal feed in piglet starter and meal forms, working to strict hygiene, quality, segregation, and feed safety standards. The role contributes directly to meeting production targets while maintaining compliance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate production processes in line with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct die changes and roller adjustments as required.
- Monitor product quality and report any non-conformances.
- Complete quality, production, and compliance checks and records
- Maintain hygiene standards in line with UFAS requirements.
- Understand and adhere to feed safety and cross-contamination rules.
- Report process or plant defects to the shift leader the or maintenance team.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover where trained.
- Contribute ideas to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comply with all site health and safety regulations.
About You:
- Consistent and open to working a rotating shift pattern that alternates on a weekly basis
- Flexible to work overtime on a as need basis to provide holiday and sickness cover or in times of high demand
- Previous experience in manufacturing within a food or feed environment
- Experience of working to quality and health and safety standards
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Basic IT skills
- High level of precision and a thorough approach to tasks
- Willing to undertake additional training.
