About the role:
As the Head of Trident Micro Nutri (TMN) at AB Agri, you will take overall ownership of the business's performance, with responsibility for P&L, budget setting, forecasting, and reforecasting in close partnership with finance.
You'll set the commercial course for TMN—maintaining important supplier alliances, identifying potential products to diversify the portfolio, and ensuring customers get a high-quality experience with knowledgeable technical and commercial support.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll guide a small, specialist team, help deliver ambitious long-term growth plans, and represent TMN at industry events, trade shows, and customer forums. You'll also work cross-functionally with stakeholders in marketing and operations, including oversight of the distribution centre in Northern Ireland, to ensure safe, compliant, and effective delivery across the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Own the P&L for Trident Micro Nutri (TMN), setting budgets and managing forecasting/reforecasting in close partnership with Finance.
- Build and protect strategic supplier partnerships, working closely with the NPD team horizon-scanning the market to identify and secure new products that improve and future-proof the TMN portfolio.
- Lead and coach the commercial team to execute clear sales plans, focus on the right customers and geographies, and deliver against agreed targets and growth ambitions.
- Drive an excellent customer experience—ensuring customers are supported, technically trained on the portfolio, and aligned to mutual commitments around volumes, forecasts, and delivery.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing to shape and deliver effective campaigns and ensure strong return on investment.
- Provide leadership oversight for the Northern Ireland distribution centre operation, ensuring service, performance, and day-to-day coordination are effective.
- Act as an industry-leading representative for TMN, attending trade shows, technical forums, and supplier/customer events—building credibility and relationships in the market.
- Champion safety, compliance, and feed safety standards, embedding a "Target Zero" mindset across the business.
What you'll need:
- Proven commercial leadership experience, with full P&L accountability and a track record of delivering growth in a B2B environment.
- Strong capability in budget setting, forecasting, and reforecasting, with confidence partnering closely with Finance to manage performance against targets.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships, with the ability to horizon-scan and identify new products to strengthen and future-proof a portfolio.
- Deep knowledge and relationships within the Compound, Blend, and premix sectors within UK agriculture
- A customer-first mindset with experience managing senior, corporate stakeholder relationships and influencing buying decisions through credibility and value-led conversations.
- Ruminant rationing and technical knowledge of how performance products are utilised both in a manufacturing and on-farm capacity.
- The ability to lead, coach and performance-manage a commercial team to execute clear sales plans and deliver agreed budgets and forecasts.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing and other internal stakeholders to plan and evaluate campaigns and improve return on investment.
- Operational awareness and people leadership skills, with the ability to oversee office-based teams and collaborate effectively with a distribution operation (including an off-site distribution centre).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including confidence representing the business at trade shows, technical forums, and customer events.
- A strong commitment to health & safety, feed safety, and compliance, with a proactive approach aligned to a Target Zero mindset.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays and occasional out-of-hours commitments to support customer, supplier, and industry engagement.
