Job Title: Hygiene Operator
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire, UK
Contract & Hours – Permanent, 48 hours per week – Monday – Friday

Why this role matters
As a Hygiene Operator, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining the highest hygiene standards across the mill. Your work directly supports feed safety, product quality, and the smooth running of our operations. You’ll help us meet internal and external standards, support continuous improvement, and contribute to a cleaner, safer, more efficient site.
This role is varied, practical, and essential. Using industrial vacuums and sprayers, degreasing equipment, and supporting broader site hygiene initiatives, you’ll improve operations each day. You’ll also have opportunities to learn additional roles on site, supporting the team when needed and helping the business remain flexible.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintaining hygiene and housekeeping standards across floors, walls, machinery, and equipment.
- Vacuuming, scraping, washing, painting, and following the site cleaning schedule.
- Working to a hygiene improvement plan and completing hygiene records.
- Handling materials using an FLT (training provided if needed).
- Reporting leaks, defects, and supporting preventative actions.
- Minimising waste and using resources responsibly.
- Supporting site meetings and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Carrying out reasonable additional duties, including holiday or night‑shift cover and weighbridge support.
What you’ll bring

- FLT licence (or willingness to train).

Desirable:
- Experience in feed milling or process control.
- Knowledge of ERP systems or master data.
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with modern MS Office tools (e.g., Power BI).
