• The Role & Key Responsibilities

  • Role: Dairy Farm Consultant

Location: Cumbria, North of England & Southwest Scotland

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000+ depending on experience, plus bonus, company car and competitive benefits

Are you interested in helping dairy farmers improve performance and profitability?

Whether you're already working as a Dairy Consultant or you've built experience in nutrition, farm business management, genetics, milk production or another dairy-focused advisory role, we'd like to hear from you.

Kite Consulting is one of the UK's well-known dairy consultancy businesses. We work alongside progressive dairy farmers, helping them make informed decisions that lead to better technical performance, better financial results and sustainable long-term growth.

We’re looking for an individual who likes forming relationships, addressing problems, and contributing to positive outcomes on the farm. This position could suit an experienced consultant interested in a fresh professional opportunity, as well as someone with a deep dairy background who wants to move into consulting.

    What you'll be doing

    • Working directly with dairy farming businesses to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
    • Providing practical advice and support across dairy performance, business management and farm profitability.
    • Using data and on-farm insights to help customers make informed decisions.
    • Managing a portfolio of clients and building trusted long-term relationships.
    • Supporting the growth of the business by identifying opportunities to add value for customers.

    What we're looking for

We're more interested in the right person than a specific career path. You may have experience in:

    • Dairy consultancy.
    • Dairy nutrition.
    • Farm business management.
    • Milk production or herd management.
    • Genetics, breeding or performance recording.
    • Agricultural advisory or technical field-based roles.

    You'll also bring:

    • A solid understanding of UK dairy farming.
    • Good commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
    • Experience working directly with farmers and industry stakeholders.
    • The ability to analyse information and turn it into practical recommendations.
    • An interest in developing yourself and growing your consultancy career.

    Why join Kite?

    • Work with some of the UK's most progressive dairy businesses.
    • Join a highly respected consultancy with a well-known reputation across the industry.
    • Access ongoing training, development and mentoring from experienced consultants.
    • Manage your customer portfolio in a way that fits your preferred style and day-to-day workflow.
    • Attractive pay, bonus, and benefits package, with employer pension contributions matched up to 10%.

Not got a CV ready? That's fine. If you'd like an informal conversation about the role and your background, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
