Job Title: Head of Financial Control
Location: Europe (hybrid with travel to sites)

We are recruiting a Head of Financial Control within our AB Neo business, responsible for leading financial control efforts, including standardising how the company manages audits, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory requirements across different countries. This position has been strategically designed to standardise the financial processes across multiple European sites (UK, Spain, Poland and Denmark) with a key focus on all accounting, control, statutory reporting, risk management and audit activities across our global accounting teams.
We are seeking a leader who is able to implement positive change, streamline processes and build relationships across the wider ABF and AB Agri business groups in order to understand processes and ways of working, along with gaining an understanding culturally.
What you'll be doing:
Financial Leadership & Control
- Ensure a robust financial control environment, including compliance with internal controls, ABC (Anti-Bribery and Corruption) policies, Transfer Pricing, and risk documentation.
- Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow submissions in alignment with group standards and deadlines.
- Manage financial processes across ERP systems, standardise controls, and ensure best practices are applied consistently across regions.
Team Development & Operational Management
- Manage, develop, and support a skilled finance team across Europe, creating a positive, customer-focused culture.
- Provide direction and ensure compliance with all regional financial, tax, and reporting requirements.
Audit, Compliance & Governance
- Own relationships with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective audit readiness.
- Maintain and test the Business Continuity Plan, ensuring operational resilience.
Strategic Initiatives & Projects
- Implement continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration, and contribute to other strategic, business-critical projects.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including Group Tax, Treasury, and Reporting, ensuring alignment and collaboration across functions.
What you'll bring:
- Good critical thinking, adept at navigating complex issues and ambiguity
- Ability to effectively manage risk and communicates this with senior management
- Qualified finance professional, ACA, ACCA or similar
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, processes and procedures.
- Robust understanding of accounting and tax regulations
- Advanced financial modelling skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
Location: this position can be based in either UK, Spain, Poland or Denmark with travel required between the sites.
